Those who missed the developer conference 2011 by Kolkata Geeks, this blog is for them. I tried to communicate all of my friends, colleagues, students and corporate clients. Some of them attained, but not all of them. I feel, due to different other prgrams/assignments attaining this kind of sessions takes a backseat.
Not a problem, I know you wanted to attain. So, writing this blog. My target is to give you a feeling about those sessions and also I want to give you the links which might be beneficial to you.
This was a Launch Event for Microsoft Office 365. This was also a technical event for developers working with Microsoft technology. My feeling about the day was FANTASTIC.

Mr. Amit Bansal.
Mr. Amit Bansal hosted the entire conference with his fantastic anchoring capability. He has got a very good sense of humor and applied those throughout the day. Really that made the conference a rocking one.
Mr. Abhishek Kant from Microsoft came to address the launch event of Office 365. This was a very informative session we witnessed. He shared Office 365 means Ms-Office in Cloud. Really an informative speech it was and inspired most of the participants to use it.
After Office 365 launch Mr. Amit Bansal came to deliver his fantastic speech about the topic "SQL Server 2012 (Denali).". You will get latest update about him in http://www.amitbansal.net/. He also maintains a site named http://www.sqlservergeeks.com/. The latest updates and fantastic articles on SQL Server we can have from both the sites. I must say, he really is a good anchor.
We already have ASP.NET 4.5, another minor version change. The IDE and WYSIWYG software from Microsoft is Visual Studio 2011 Lightswitch. This was one of the sessions I was interested for. Why, first of all the topic itself was interesting and secondly the speaker, Mr. Abhijit Jana. If you have not heard about him, simply do a google search to see his profile and articles. His articles are very comprehensive truly and you can find them at http://abhijitjana.net/. He also maintains another site named http://dailydotnettips.com/. He already has shared the discussion he made in DevCon2011 on the first site mentioned.
Do you honestly believe in effective codes with Design Patterns? Microsoft updated MVC to MVC 4 now. The person from Hyderabad Mr Shravan Kumar Kasagoni addressed MVC 4 new features. He is a core member of Hyderabad User Group and shares updates and discussions at http://theshravan.net/blog/.
Then Mr. Sankarsan Bose came with a different type of topic, which was very interesting. He is a regular and consistent blogger. His write ups are very interesting and can be found over here: http://sankarsan.wordpress.com/.
After a good discussion on TPL data flow, we got a very nice and tempting discussion on Metro Apps, means working with Touch Screen devices. Mr Abhishek Sur, the core member of http://kolkatageeks.com./ presented the topic with sample code. He already has shared the discussion in his blog at http://www.abhisheksur.com/. He is also a very consistent blogger from Kolkata.
Mr. Kunal travelled a lot from Pune to Kolkata to discuss about latest features of Windows 7 Mobile. His presentation was fantastic and a very comprehensive. You can find all his discussion and most interestlingly you can find some good tutorials over there. The site address is http://www.kunal-chowdhury.com/.
Finally, the conference ended with some quiz and distributing some goodies. I must thanks to the student members who made the possible.
This type of conference makes sense. Software Engineering is a very young field and nurturing technology tips & tricks in my opinion is highly required and have become very urgent.
Hope you enjoyed the write up. Please put your comment, which will make me interested to write more blogs.
